Tampines to Changi Business Park by MRT — Commute Guide 2026

The fastest way from Tampines to Changi Business Park is the Downtown Line (DTL) from Tampines MRT directly to Expo MRT, then a short walk into the park. Total journey from Tampines Trilliant: approximately 25–32 minutes door-to-door. No line changes required.

Step 1 — Walk to Tampines MRT: 9 minutes

From The Tampines Trilliant (Tampines Central 7), walk to Tampines MRT using Exit E. The route is flat with sheltered sections and takes 9–12 minutes depending on pace. No feeder bus required.

Step 2 — Downtown Line (DTL) eastbound: ~8 minutes

Board the Downtown Line (DTL/blue line) at Tampines (DT32). Take an eastbound service in the direction of Expo.

Three stops, no changes:

  • Tampines (DT32) → Tampines East (DT33) — 2 min
  • Tampines East (DT33) → Upper Changi (DT34) — 3 min
  • Upper Changi (DT34) → Expo (DT35) — 3 min

Every DTL service from Tampines terminates at Expo — you do not need to check the destination board.

Step 3 — Walk from Expo MRT into CBP: 5–12 minutes

At Expo (DT35/CG1):

  • Exit D — direct pedestrian access into Changi Business Park. Use for most CBP buildings.
  • Exit G — opens into UE Bizhub East basement. Use if your office is in UE Bizhub East.
  • Exit B — leads to Changi South Avenue 1, western approach to the park.

Walk times from Expo MRT to CBP buildings:

  • UE Bizhub East, nearest buildings: 3–5 minutes
  • Mid-park offices (DBS Asia Hub area): 8–10 minutes
  • Far-park offices (Standard Chartered, Changi Business Park Ave 3): 12–15 minutes

Total door-to-door: 25–32 minutes for most CBP destinations.

Alternative: East West Line Route

If you prefer the East West Line (EWL/green), or if the DTL has disruptions:

  1. Board at Tampines (EW2) westbound
  2. One stop to Simei (EW3)
  3. One stop to Tanah Merah (EW4)
  4. At Tanah Merah, the line branches. Board a train marked Expo / Changi Airport (not Pasir Ris direction)
  5. One stop to Expo (CG1)

EWL journey time: approximately 10–12 minutes. The branch split at Tanah Merah means you must board the correct service — check the destination on the platform display before boarding.

For most people, the DTL is simpler because every train goes to Expo without any branch complication.

Peak vs Off-Peak Frequency

LinePeak (07:00–09:00, 17:30–20:00)Off-peak
Downtown Line (DT32)Every 3–4 minutesEvery 5–7 minutes
East West Line (EW2)Every 2–4 minutesEvery 5–8 minutes

Both lines are frequent enough that platform waiting is rarely more than 5 minutes even off-peak.

Practical Tips for CBP Workers

Which carriage to board. On the DTL at Tampines, boarding toward the middle or rear of the train puts you closer to the exits at Expo (DT35) that lead toward CBP. Exit D is roughly mid-platform.

Timing. The Tanah Merah junction on the EWL means that during peak hours, some EWL trains do not serve the Expo branch. If using EWL, wait for a service marked “Expo” or “Changi Airport.” DTL avoids this issue entirely.

Changi City Point. Directly above Expo MRT is Changi City Point, a mall with food court, NTUC FairPrice, and dining options. Many CBP workers pick up lunch or groceries on the way home.

Future: Xilin MRT (TEL). A planned Thomson-East Coast Line station at Xilin is expected to serve the CBP area, offering an additional route. No confirmed opening date as of March 2026.
